Sheikh Ibrahim Niass peace prize awarded to King Mohammed VI

Dakar – The Sheikh Ibrahim Niass peace prize was awarded on Tuesday in the Senegalese capital to King Mohammed VI in recognition for his initiatives and considerable efforts to promote the Islamic values of moderation, tolerance and co-existence.The prize was handed by Sheikh Ahmed Tidiane Ibrahim Niass, chairman of the “Jamhiyatu Ansaarud-Dîn” association to Morocco’s minister of Habous and islamic affairs, Ahmed Taoufiq, at the opening session of an international conference on Islam and peace, held under the patronage of the Moroccan sovereign.A similar prize was also awarded to Senegalese president, Macky Sall, for his actions to enshrine the Islamic values of peace and tolerance.
