J’Lynn Ledesma smashes Missouri Valley Conference high jump record with 6-0 1/ 2 leap

first_imgby Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Wellington High School graduate J’Lynn Ledesma etched her name in the record books at the Air Force Team Challenge in Colorado Springs, Colo. for the Wichita State Shockers. Ledesma, the daughter of Jay and Linda Ledesma, achieved her goal of a 6-0 in the high jump this Saturday. Not only did she set a new personal best by clearing the bar at 6-0 1/2 in the high jump, she etched her name in the Missouri Valley Conference record books with the best indoor high jump in conference history. The 2010 WHS graduate, who had won the Class 4A state championship in the high jump for the Crusaders, is currently in her junior year at WSU. She placed first in the event and now ranks 10th in the nation.The junior also ranks first in the Valley this season in the event. She won the MVC Indoor High Jump Championship in 2012 with a leap of 5-9 3/4 which ranked second all-time at WSU.She finished second in the high jump at the Herm Wilson Invitational and Varsity Apartments Invitational. Just saying that anything on this site that is more than two sentences usually involves your kids. This is just what I have read.
