DONEGAL MAN BLAZING A TRAIL ON TG4!

first_imgMicheal carrying out some research for the next show.A young Donegal man is blazing a trail on young people’s programmes on TG4.Micheál Ó Ciaraidh presnts Cúla4/TG4’s Kids Zone on weekdays from 4-6pm.Micheál brings viewers up to date news on technology, APPS, events, sports, cool guests, movies, gaming and much more. Letterkenny man Micheal outside TG4.Cúla4 is TG4’s kid’s zone aimed at young people between the ages of 6 -12 years.Cúla4 brings you top international animated series’ including Breadwinners, Spongebob Squarepants, Garfield, Dennis and Gnasher and Scaredy Squirrel.Micheal breaks away from the studio each week to bring us a weekly instalment of SOS (Sos ón scoil). Each week they visit a school from around the country and let the students showcase the highlights and achievements in their school, while bringing Micheál to their favourite nooks and crannies.Michael is a native Letterkenny man, born and bred in the Cathedral Town. His parents are Michael Carey (senior) from and Convoy-woman Marian Carey (nee. Doherty).Michael was in the first class to ever graduate from Coláiste Ailigh, and it’s here that he fondly looks back on as being the roots of his love for the language.“It was there that I was first introduced to Irish as a living language, having studied it only as a subject before then. My family wouldn’t be native speakers. We were the guinea pig year in Sprackburn House, which had just recently been converted from a B&B.”And what are Micheal’s thoughts on Donegal?“It’s not uncommon to tune in and see me with the Donegal scarf wrapped around my neck during pieces to camera, and I’m always trying to organise location shoots up at home. “There’s a good Donegal contingency working here in TG4, and we’re all very proud of our roots. Sometimes, it takes being away from home for a few years to realise just how much we have going for us. I lived in Dublin for close to 9 years, but I don’t know if I ever really settled there.”DONEGAL MAN BLAZING A TRAIL ON TG4! was last modified: October 5th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:donegalMicheál Ó CiaraidhTG4last_img read more
